Addison’s disease is a rare disorder of the adrenal glands. The adrenal glands do not produce enough steroid hormones. It results in general debility, tiredness and weight loss. In most cases, the disease is idiopathic (of unknown cause). Treatment with adrenocortical hormone therapy is usually successful with the individual’s ability to understand and control the condition.
