Asthma is a common condition affecting the airways causing them to become narrowed and inflamed. It can lead to a build up of mucus making it difficult to breath.
Symptoms can include coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath.

Best / Mild cases – childhood or exercise induced asthma, minimal symptoms easily controlled on medication with no hospitalisation or oral steroids.

Moderate – regular symptoms and exacerbation with oral steroids and / or hospitalisation

Severe – Frequent symptoms requiring hospitalisation and oral steroids.
