Crohn's disease is a chronic condition that causes inflammation of the lining of the digestive system.
It usually begins in early adult life, the disease runs an unpredictable course; although a complete remission may occur, the disorder is typically chronic and relapsing. Symptoms include ongoing bowel upset, pain and diarrhea.

Facts:
Most cases of Crohn’s disease first develop in people who are between 16 and 30 years of age, although the condition can affect people of all ages, including children.
Approximately 20,000 people in Ireland suffer from colitis and Crohn’s Disease.
