Carpal tunnel occurs where the tendons and median nerve become inflamed and trapped at the wrist. The narrowing of the bones and ligaments in the wrist - called the carpal tunnel - results in compression of the median nerves, one of the two major nerves in the arm.
Some cases can be due to work related cumulative trauma in the wrist, Treatment will depend upon the severity of symptoms and degree of disability if any. It can include wrist splints, anti-inflammatory drugs or injections or surgery.
