Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is an inherited disease that causes thick secretions to build up in the lungs and digestive tract. This mucus builds up in the airways of the lungs and the pancreas, an organ that helps digest food. This leads to life-threatening lung infections and serious digestive problems. Treatments used include daily physiotherapy, antibiotics and enzymes. Lung transplantations may be considered in some cases.
