This is an infection of the bladder which can be viral or bacterial causing inflammation of the lining of the bladder. This can cause urinary frequency and pain on urinating. The condition is common in women, and isolated mild attacks are usually due to minor infection. Attacks are less common in males and investigations are usually required if attacks are recurrent.
